Aluminum gas springs
The new Bansbach gas spring made completely of aluminum!
In many applications weight is the decisive factor, which is why we pay close attention to ensuring that the weight of single components is as low as possible. Our inspiration for developing the Bansbach aluminum gas spring was to give our customers all of the characteristics of our steel and stainless steel gas springs minus the added weight.
The aluminum gas spring is more than 50% lighter when compared to our other springs. A standard gas spring with a diameter of 8/19mm and a stroke length of 150mm weights approximately 250g. A comparable aluminum gas spring with a diameter of 8/20mm and the same stroke length weighs only approximately 120g. This weight advantage becomes decisive when the weight is an essential factor and several gas springs will be used in the application, as is often seen in the aerospace industry.
